It's not often that we come across a fashion blog run by two best friends, but today that's exactly what we're here to feature today! Rechelle and Kahla are two fashionistas from the West Coast, embracing their friendship and shared love of style by co-running the website, Sea of Sanctuary.
Rechelle Lewis and Kahla Perry first met while growing up in Idaho, then went on to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in California. And in addition to education, these ladies have real experience in the industry too! Rechelle served on a styling team for the Oscars, while Kahla has worked in both fashion marketing and buying. After years of working in warm sunny weather, the two eventually made their way to lush green Seattle and began paving their way in the Emerald City's fashion industry.
Today, their looks are a combination of inspired experiences and practical wear for their busy lives. You can view Rechelle and Kahla's awesome West Coast street styles on their shared instagram, @SeaofSanctuary. But to give you a preview, we've gone ahead and pulled a few of their best looks here!
Red Polka Dot / Floral Slit Dress with Sandals
Worn by Rechelle here, we're totally crushing on this long, breezy red dress! It looks like it has polka dots at a glance, but they're actually tiny flowers. Either way, it works! The off-the-shoulder look has been becoming more trendy lately, but it's the loose side slit and addition of flat sandals that makes the look especially summer friendly.
You can definitely dress this look up a bit when making it your own, simply by altering the shoes. Go for a wedged or mid heeled sandal, though depending on your location, we also feel a pair of brown western style boots could work wonders with a dress like this.
Chunky White Sweater with Skinny Jeans and Animal Print Shoes
Worn by Kahla, we absolutely love this outfit as an everyday look for running errands or grabbing lunch with friends. The sweater definitely looks warm, but the beige / off-white color makes it appear breezy and casual. The addition of the wide brimmed brown hat gives the look a touch of chicness, while the denim skinny jeans and large leather tote bag make the ensemble feel complete. You can wear the sweater color of your choice when making this outfit your own, but we definitely recommend keeping it on the light side.
Nevertheless, the most delightfully surprising thing about this outfit has to be the leopard-print slip ons. They work really well with the mono-color tones of the other items in this outfit and make it extra fun. You don't necessarily have to go for animal print when choosing your own footwear for this outfit, but we do suggest sticking with slip ons or sliders to keep with the comfy yet trendy vibes.
